Personal Fitness Training

We are a team of fitness professionals involved in exercise prescription and instruction. We work with clients by setting fitness goals and providing regular feedback. Our trainers measure the client’s strengths and weaknesses with fitness assessments. These fitness assessments may be performed before and after an exercise program to measure the client’s improvements in physical fitness. Our trainers educate the clients in many other aspects of wellness besides exercise, including general health and nutrition guidelines. If a trainer suspects that one of his or her clients has a medical condition that could prevent the client from safe participation in an exercise program, they refer the client to the proper health professional for prior clearance.

Free Weight Training

Weight training is a common type of strength training for developing the strength and size of skeletal muscles. It uses the weight force of gravity (in the form of weighted bars, dumbbells or weight stacks) to oppose the force generated by muscle through concentric or eccentric contraction. Weight training uses a variety of specialized equipment to target specific muscle groups and types of movement. Weight training differs from bodybuilding, Olympic weightlifting, power lifting, and strongman, which are sports rather than forms of exercise. Weight training, however, is often part of the athlete’s training regimen.

TRX

TRX Suspension Training requires the use of the TRX® Suspension Trainer™, a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s bodyweight to enable hundreds of exercises that can be instantly scaled for any user to reach any fitness or training goal. The easily scalable nature of TRX Suspension Training makes it a practical solution wherever you are on the fitness continuum.

TRX SUSPENSION TRAINING PRINCIPLES

Three principles enable you to instantly scale TRX Suspension Training movements.

VECTOR RESISTANCE PRINCIPLE

For most standing movements, positioning your feet closer to the anchor point will increase resistance and heighten the challenge. Stepping farther away from the anchor point will decrease resistance and make movements easier to execute.

PENDULUM PRINCIPLE

For ground-based movements, moving your feet away from the anchor point will increase resistance and heighten the challenge. Moving your feet towards the anchor point or behind the anchor point will decrease resistance and make movements easier to execute.

STABILITY PRINCIPLE

In general, performing movements with a narrower base of support or unilaterally (using just one arm or just one leg instead of both arms or both legs) will increase the challenge of TRX movements. The wider your base of support, the more stable you will be during TRX movements and the less challenging they will be to perform.

Strength Training

Strength training is the use of resistance to muscular contraction to build the strength, anaerobic endurance, and size of skeletal muscles. Strength training is a combination of repetitions, sets, tempo and force to reach desired results by overloading of a group of muscles. There are many different methods of strength training which include Body weight training, Resistance Tubing, Free Weights and Weight Machines.

Kick Boxing

Kickboxing is a fun and effective workout that engages almost every muscle of the body. It helps to increase strength and stamina, improves balance and coordination, increases heart rate that helps burn fat and is a great stress buster (what better way to relieve your frustration than to kick and punch)
